In the recent membership renewal survey 75% of respondents expressed an interest in underground exploration.With that in mind we are arranging a few trips this year initially aimed at the newer members or those with little underground experience.These will alternate between Wednesdays and Sundays.The first trip will be –
Wednesday 10th April at 10.30 – meet at Assay House
To see ancient graffiti including a dromedary engraving and initials dating back to 1790. Also interesting wood railway lines, coal seam and remains of gunpowder drill holes.There will be quite a bit of crawling, knee pads strongly recommended. Any water should not be over welly depth.Helmets and lamps available to borrow, these need to be booked.Duration of trip – approx. 2 hours
